Christmas car journey

I was stuck in a queue of traffic yesterday and the cars traveling the other way were also at a stand still. Everyone looked annoyed and miserable. Then as we started moving I spotted a car with antlers sticking out of the side and a mother and son sat inside it wearing Santa hats. It put me in a cheery Christmas mood!

Blind man’s buff

I haven’t blogged in way too long. Have been super busy with a new job. I’m currently being followed by a blind man on the streets of the town where I work. I say blind; he has a white stick but still manages to find me wherever I am. He loves to make small talk about the rain, how great the meat van at the market is and once told me he’d recognise the sound of my shoes anywhere. Ahhh blind man.

Toilet tantrum

At the request of my friend Helia, here’s a little tale about a trip to the toilet…

I went to Leeds on Thursday, was in a queue in some toilets and the toilet attendant was in there with a woman and a man in a wheelchair. The only disabled toilet must’ve been inside the womens’.

The attendant knocks on the door of the disabled and says: ‘Please can you hurry we’ve got got a disabled person waiting,’ clearly assuming it’s just someone using the disabled because there’s a queue.

A minute later a woman comes out with one normal arm and one stump and shouts: ‘I am f*cking disabled’ waving her stump in the air.

Feeling crafty

When I get some free time soon and can arrange with my friend Soph – we’re going to be crafty!

I’m excited to give these Russian dolls a go.

Fingers crossed they should be an easy route into craft making.

French fancy

I recently went to see Julie and Julia. I loved it – Bon Appétit!

It made me think about how much I like keeping a blog, I just wish I had a proper purpose to my blogging. My aim is to find one sometime soon!

I’ve come to the conclusion that if I were to follow Julie’s lead and make a recipe a day from a French cookbook I wouldn’t be enlightened, just fat.

Bring on November!

Hello, I’d love a new ‘puter

I love Mr Lappy Mac my trusty comp, but I’d never say no to a new addition to the family. So I’m linking back to this site in an attempt to win myself a shiny bit of MacBook Air technology.

Tie your woggle in a knot

The latest addition to my exercise routine is Aquafit classes. My friend Holly roped me in and aside from the two of us the majority of the clientele are 60+.

You’d be wrong if you assumed this meant they were timid old ladies though.

We’ve both nearly drowned on numerous occasions from energised participants throwing their arms to the left and then to the right, creating a tidal wave of water cascading over our heads.

The first class was kind of mundane, but then the woggles appeared! Oh the possibilities of what one can do with a woggle.

Call Me

Since moving out of my flat I’ve had to faff about sorting various things. One of them is paying off bills. For some reason my electricity supplier didn’t seem to want to answer my calls though. Day after day of being left on hold wasn’t fun. But I was finally tipped over the edge by “Killing Me Softly” in soft keyboard tones. Oh the irony.
